The 8 Hour Annual In-Service Training is mandatory for all New York State security guards, to be completed within 12 months after the 16-Hour On-the-Job Training and annually thereafter. KTI NYC offers this course online via Zoom, reviewing essential topics from your initial training while providing updated information on security duties and responsibilities. Key topics include the role of the security guard, legal powers, emergency response, communications, access control, ethics, and conduct. Students must attend the full course and pass the exam with at least 70% to receive a certificate of completion from KTI.

The 16-Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards is designed to provide a deeper understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard beyond the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training. This course is a required step to complete your New York State security guard certification training.
