Young Nigerian forward Anomnachi Chidi has joined Bosnian side FK Sarajevo on a season-long loan deal from Slovenian outfit NK Celje. The 21 year old striker, who moved to Celje from Nordic United earlier in 2025, will remain in Bosnia until May 2026, with Sarajevo holding an option to buy.

Chidi made his move to Celje in January 2025, having previously played for Nordic United and spent time on loan in Sweden’s lower divisions.  Sarajevo officials have expressed optimism that Chidi’s pace and attacking sense will add depth to their frontline for the remainder of the season.

We view Chidi’s latest move not just as another transfer, but as a deliberate step in his development journey. While loan moves sometimes carry the stigma of uncertainty, they can also present invaluable opportunities for young players to test themselves, grow under pressure, and return stronger.

We appreciate that the move to Sarajevo offers Chidi game time in a competitive league and exposure to different styles of play. Bosnia may not be football’s glitziest showcase, but it is a place where a player can consolidate technique, sharpen decision-making, and learn to adapt qualities essential for a striker.

We believe this season will test Chidi’s resilience and ambition. He must transition from youth promise into professional consistency, and Sarajevo could either be the platform for his breakthrough or a period of refinement. How he handles this phase—both in performance and mentality will likely shape the trajectory of his career from here.

We hold firm to the conviction that moves abroad should be seen neither as ends nor escapes, but as phases of professional maturation. If Chidi maximizes this opportunity, he could return to Celje or beyond with more than just confidence, but with footballing maturity. And it is on that foundation that successful careers are built.
